Founded in 1912, we are the world’s longest-established accredited school.  We can offer you the benefits of almost 100 years of experience.

We are a founding member of EnglishUK (formerly known as ARELS) and have been continuously accredited ever since the very first inspection scheme started in 1957.  We are regularly inspected by the British Council – you can read the conclusions of their last report here.  We are also members of Quality English and IALC – both of them international organizations guaranteeing quality and standards.

We focus on quality in everything we do.  Not just the teaching, but also welfare, administration, accommodation, location and premises.  We are not the cheapest school in the market, but our clients get top quality throughout and make very fast progress, so they get real value for money – which is why they keep coming back. 

We always quote our lesson lengths in full hours so that you can understand exactly how much of the trainer's time you will get. When comparing different courses at different schools, remember to check the actual lesson length.  For example, a course offering 25 lessons could be very much shorter than a course offering 25 hours.

We do not teach children and although we have many students aged 20-24, the average age at our Westcroft Square centre is 29; at our Holland Park Gardens centre it is 36.  The result is a learning environment which really respects the time and motivation of serious people.

Our well qualified and experienced trainers guarantee consistency and quality in the teaching.  They have an average of 12 years' experience of teaching English as an international language.  You are safe in their hands.

We offer courses in two different centres – our Holland Park Gardens centre focuses on Professional English courses; our Westcroft Square centre offers Intensive General English and Examinations courses.  Both are situated in excellent residential areas close to the centre of London and each offers exactly the right environment to the people studying in them.  Both are in excellent locations, well-appointed and large enough for a varied nationality mix, but small enough for us to offer plenty of personal attention.

We do not offer a ‘one size fits all’ solution to language training.  We cater for a wide variety of needs, from the general to highly specialised courses.  We will always assess your needs and give you honest advice about the most appropriate course.  Whatever your reason for needing language training, we probably have something suitable but if we do not have the right course for you, we will always tell you.

We offer top-class facilities and services to ensure that you make the maximum progress and are comfortable while you are with us.  We offer excellent classroom technology, good computer rooms, high-speed (50Mb) wireless internet connection, good lunch facilities (a restaurant facility in our Holland Park Gardens centre and a cafeteria at our Westcroft Square centre), free printing and photocopying facilities and friendly front-desk staff who help you make the most of your stay.

We offer a wide range of excellent homestay opportunities.  It’s all local and about half of it is within walking distance of the school.  Even where travel by bus or underground is necessary the journey is easy and no more than about 30 minutes.  Wireless internet access is always available free of charge in our homestays.  Of course, we recognize that not everyone wants homestay, so we offer a wide range of alternatives to suit all tastes and budgets.
