Summer School at Middlesex University

The London School of English is working in partnership with Middlesex University to give our course participants the opportunity to combine an English language course with a summer university course.

Some of the courses at Middlesex University's summer school are designed to allow students to complete full modules of university study. These can be taken for academic credit* or for professional and personal development. There are also summer courses that are simply for personal and creative development that don't link directly to an academic course at Middlesex.

What courses can I do?

There are courses in Arts, Business, Computing, Education, Environment, Film, Health, History, Language, Law, Psychology, Social Science and Writing. For full details on courses visit Middlesex University Summer Courses.

What academic qualifications do I need to start a course?

Many of the summer school courses require no prior experience. Check individual courses for details. An enthusiasm for the subject is essential for all courses.

What English language qualifications do I need?

To start on a Middlesex University summer course you must have an IELTS 6.0 (or TOEFL 550) or equivalent (contact Rosie Ganne for more information). You can take an IELTS preparation course at the London School of English.

Students studying Business or Law courses at Middlesex may also be interested in our Young Business English and Young Lawyers courses.

How long will the course be?

Courses at Middlesex vary between two days and five weeks.

How much will my course cost?

For up to date information on Middlesex course fees visit Middlesex Summer School.

Where will I study?

After completing your course at the London School of English you will move to Middlesex University in north London. Middlesex University has three campuses in north London, but their summer school programmes are run in two of these, Trent Park and Hendon. Both campuses have easy access into central London on the underground. Trent Park is a mansion set in 60 acres of lawn and lakes and surrounded by meadows and woodland. There is also an open air swimming pool for summer students to enjoy. For more information on the campuses visit Campus Information.

Where will I live?

Students can stay in the Halls of Residence at the Trent Park campus. For more information visit Campus Accommodation.

How can I book my course?

* The academic credit will be accepted on Middlesex University courses, but you will need to check if your university will accept Middlesex credit if you plan to use it in this way.
