Andy

Hello, my name is Andy and as well as teaching, I'm involved in the online activities here at the London School of English. In addition to writing for the school's blog, I also look at ways of using technology to make the classroom more fun and interesting. Living in London is great as it's so easy to travel anywhere - my girlfriend and I have family in Sweden, Australia, Greece and South Africa so this is very useful, if expensive. I also like running and finished the 2009 London Marathon. Now I want to do the race again in a faster time!

Ben

Hi, I’m Ben and I’ve been teaching at the London School for about 5 years now. I’ve been teaching for 8 years in total and I teach a range of subjects and courses at both of our training centres in London. I was born and now live in the local area which is West London (that’s right I’m a real Londoner), but I spent 3 years living in Manchester at university and 18 months working in Oxford. I’ve done 3 teaching qualifications, although my degree was in Social Science as I’m interested in society and the way people live together. I’ve travelled a lot, but not as much as I’d like. The world’s such a big place and life is so short, there’s simply too much to see and do. This is also why I like my job. I’m lucky enough to get the opportunity to meet people from all over the world and learn about and understand their cultures and customs. Working in an international environment is a great fun way to get experience of the world without travelling. The London School is a fantastic place to work and London is the best city in the world to live in. I may be a bit biased but I challenge you to come and prove me wrong! That's all for now cheers!!

Heather

As the senior (in years at least!) member of the team I obviously have a much longer career history. I've been teaching since 2002 working in Shanghai, China and Lecce, Italy and then less glamourously, but just as interesting, London. Having realised that I wanted to stay in teaching and that I thoroughly enjoyed it, I did the DELTA three years ago (a higher teaching qualification). Prior to teaching I worked in IT Sales for many years, eight and a half highly successful years in IBM and then in IT recruitment for 6 years, specialising in Finance and Banking. This experience has been invaluable when teaching business at our Holland Park school. I've been working at the London School of English for about two and a half years, I love the fact that each course and participant are different, it keeps us on our toes!  Before teaching I spent some time in the leisure industry working summers in Greece and winters in Ski resorts - great fun - but that's another story!

Laura

I live in Wimbledon in South West London, I've been teaching for almost ten years and I really love English (even though it's my own language!). When I'm not teaching or socialising I spend a lot of time just reading (especially novels), listening to music and generally 'pottering about'!  I also love travelling and am usually dreaming about and planning my next holiday!  I taught in Estonia for a year and I'd love to teach abroad again but at the moment I'm making the most of living in such an interesting city as London.

Luke

Hi I'm Luke. I've been working for London School of English for about 4 years, and I've been teaching for about 9 years now. I lived and worked in Japan (Kanagawa prefecture) for 2 years too. I did the diploma teaching qualification at UCL a couple of years ago. At LSE I teach lots of different English courses - general English, business English, legal English. I enjoy teaching English a lot because it's interesting to meet people from around the world and I enjoy being creative in the classroom. I like working at LSE because the other teachers are a good laugh! I have my own podcast and website for learners of English. You can visit it here: Luke's English Podcast. I'm also interested in music. I play the drums in the school band and I try to play the guitar at home. I love rock climbing and football too. Cheers!
