We have recently launched a new online course - BULATS Writing Practice
On Tuesday 27th October we will be launching our new website. We spoke to a number of students and agents through the design process and we hope the finished product will be more user friendly and have all the resources you are looking for.
This month we are celebrating forty years at Holland Park Gardens. We moved here in 1969 from Oxford Circus, in central London. The school at that time was very large and had a lot of students, many of them studying part time. Peter Fabian, the Director of the school at the time, felt that this busy environment wasn’t the right place to study a language seriously. The move to Holland Park Gardens, along with making all our courses full time, meant the school became a quieter and more personal place to study, with a more mature client base. Our personal service and serious study environment is still very important to us today, and our courses still attract mature and motivated participants.
In July 2008 we launched our first online courses. The courses, which are a mixture of general English and business English, all focus on listening, reading and grammar. The feedback we have had from students over the past year has been overwhelmingly positive. Whilst online courses will never replace the kind of training that students can expect when they come to us in London, a well designed online course can go a long way to helping students continue using and improve their language skills over a longer period of time. Not everyone has the time to spend as long as they would like with us in London, but an online course can help students to improve and maintain their confidence when they are back home. The courses are also very useful for students that never come to study with us.
With the internet providing so many new ways to communicate with the world we thought it was a good time to use these new technologies to talk to language learners around the globe.
