Learn English in London

Learn English in London

The London School of English often uses the great city we are in as a classroom, with trips to various museums, galleries and areas of interest. In this week’s post, our trainer Mini tells us about her experience of a recent lesson with her Intensive General English class in Soho, one of London’s most exciting areas.

The London School of English - Brazilinglish2

From Brazinglish to English, part 2

In the second part of our two-part blog on common Brazilian errors, Laura points out five more common errors that Brazilians often make. If you remember, Laura spent a week in Belo Horizonte teaching our International Business English course. You can read the first part of her post here. Read on for the second part.

From Brazinglish to English, part 1

Earlier this year, Laura was fortunate enough to spend a week in Belo Horizonte in Brazil to teach our International Business Communication course. Not only was it Laura’s first time in Brazil but also in South America full stop, so you can imagine how excited she was! In the first of two blog posts, Laura shares some of her knowledge on the common errors that Brazilian English speakers make, otherwise known as Brazinglish.

Your next daytrip!

So, summer’s here (ish) and people’s thoughts turn to the seaside. The traditional British seaside resort developed massively from the start of the 19th century but has been in decline ever since travel abroad has been available to the masses. However, being beside the seaside never goes completely out of fashion and I for one love it!

London, Kiev, Paris

This summer is such a busy and eventful one here in London and for English people in general. Not only are the Olympics due to start in a few short weeks, but hot on the heels of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee is Euro 2012. Okay, it’s not in the UK, but football always interests and excites the British people.

How to spend Easter weekend when you are in the UK!

As you probably know we have a four day weekend coming up in the next few days. A lot of people, including me, will use this as an opportunity to escape the hurly burly of London by taking a short holiday. Here is our latest blog post from one of our trainers, Jon.

Teaching English and Working in Ecuador

I recently took a few months sabbatical away from the school which is why you haven’t seen me write any blog posts recently. I went travelling around South America and then I went to do some voluntary work with a Shuar community in the Ecuadorian rainforest.

Brandenburg Gate

Just like Laura, I’ve just come back from a city break but went slightly further afield than Glasgow, Berlin. I’ve been meaning to go ever since I lived in Germany many moons ago but just never got round to it; but now that I have, I certainly wasn’t disappointed. Berlin has so much to offer that it was impossible for me to do everything I wanted to in three days, but I’d like to share the highlights of my trip.

Glasgow: The Verdict

If you remember, a couple of weeks ago I blogged about my forthcoming trip to Glasgow. Well, my visit to Scotland’s biggest city has been and gone, so as promised I’ll tell you a little bit about how it compared to my expectations.

My Glaswegian Easter

We have a long weekend this weekend. Yay! Four whole days off work for Easter (that’s Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday) so I’m venturing out of London for the weekend. And not just out of London, but out of England too – to Scotland in fact, although as both countries are part of the UK I won’t be needing my passport!
