Why study Italian?

  • Aside from being the official language in Italy, San Marino, Switzerland and Vatican City, Italian is also spoken in several other places around the world such as Malta, Istria, Dalmatia, Corsica, Slovenia, Australia and South America.
  • It could allow you to appreciate Italy’s cultural heritage in art, literature, music, and cinema in the original language rather than translation.
  • Italy is also a popular tourist destination with the highest number of World Heritage sites in the world. It is known for its beautiful landscapes, historic cities, and delicious cuisine. Speaking Italian can enhance your travel experience by helping you communicate with locals, navigate through cities, and fully immerse yourself in the local culture.
  • If you know or have an interest in other Romance languages like Spanish, French, Portuguese, or Romanian, knowing Italian can be an advantage since they share similarities in vocabulary, grammar, and structure.
