We review the excellent achievements our students have made at university in 2013

2013 was another successful year for London School of English students with over 50 students progressing to university this year. I’d like to say a big ‘congratulations’ to all of them on their dedication, hard work and success. We are very proud to have such a high achieving alumni who are an inspiration to our current and future students.

As in previous years, the majority of our students were postgraduate and have progressed to MBAs, LLMs, Masters programmes and PhDs. The range of subjects was impressive, for example we saw students starting PhDs in Chemistry and Social Work, LLMs in Competitive Law, Tax Law and International Commercial Law and a whole range of Business, Finance and Management related degrees . On the more artistic side we had a student doing a Masters in Record Production and others taking Masters in Design and Masters in Architecture.  A new area for our students was health with our first MPharm student, and another doing a Masters in Public Health.

At Undergraduate level the range of subjects was even more diverse and included History, Womanswear, Psychology, Graphic Design and International Business.

It is always nice to hear of particular success stories, and one of these is an ex-student who has qualified to become an English language teacher herself and undertook the same CELTA and DELTA teacher training courses that our English trainers take. Another example is two of our students who met each other again as they were both admitted to University of Cambridge’s English Legal Methods summer school after studying with us.

What is always satisfying to hear is that students often report back that our English for University course prepares them very well for university study, no matter what level they are aiming for. They start university with confidence and the ability to participate and produce a high standard of academic work.

Finally we are very proud of university network. A grand total of 12 of our students were accepted at University College London, King’s College London and Queen Mary, University of London alone! Other students gained places at London Business School, City University, Bristol University, SOAS, and London College of Fashion among other top names.
