Applying to university in the UK - Four things international students need to know!

Every September, many of our former students start their university course in the UK. We are always sad to say goodbye to them as they start the next stage of their education, but we are very proud of their achievement and wish them the very best of luck for the future.

Rosie, our University Relations Manager says ‘2013 was another successful year for London School of English students with over 50 students progressing to university this year. I’d like to congratulate all of them on their dedication, hard work and success. We are very proud to have such a high achieving alumni who are an inspiration to our current and future students.’

It is always nice to hear about particular success stories, and one of these is an ex-student who has qualified to become an English language teacher herself and undertook the same CELTA and DELTA teacher training courses that our English trainers take. Another example is two of our students who met each other again as they were both admitted to University of Cambridge’s English Legal Methods summer school after studying with us!

We usually help students through the decision and application process for entry into a British university, either for an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. However, there are also a number of interesting and useful short courses that are delivered by universities. Some students may find these more manageable than a full degree programme, or useful as a taster to life as a student at a British university. In addition, some of our students completed one of our partner universities’ summer courses (Link)

Our University Relations Manager is available to talk to you about your options and will help you to make an informed decision about your study plans. We will also support you through the application process, ensuring you have the best possible chance of getting onto the right course for you.

Rosie says ‘I'm here to help you get onto the best university or college course for you. Our university counselling and advice service is free for all students at the school. If you need more support writing your 'personal statement' or preparing for an interview I can help you to arrange some extra Individual Tuition.‘
