Our Business and Professional English 30+ Combination course is for working professionals who would like to focus on their own individual language needs or would like a course about their specific industry. The course combines group classes with personalised individual training to offer you a focused and flexible programme.

This course is ideal if you need to work on a specific area of language or practise for a particular meeting, presentation or future event. It is also suitable if you need English training for specific purposes, as we can work on materials, language and vocabulary specific to your profession.

Course Content

Group classes focus on key communication skills such as making presentations, negotiating, writing emails and networking. Specialised individual lessons can focus on your individual language needs or language for your industry, including:

Optional self-study: Before or after your classes, you can use the Self-Study Area in your centre. There are computers, a printer and plenty of desk space available. The Self-Study Areas are available whenever our centres are open. See the opening times for our centres here.

  • London: Daily three-course lunch (Monday to Friday)
    Canterbury: Networking lunch two days a week and an all-inclusive social programme two days a week

Canterbury:  25 hours/week (15 hours group + 10 hours individual): 08.45 - 15.45 (Monday to Friday)

30 hours/week (15 hours group + 15 hours individual): 08.45 - 16.45 (Monday to Friday)

London: 30 hours/week (15 hours group + 15 hours individual): 09.15 - 17.00 (Monday to Friday)

Level 1 (Beginner)

I do not speak any English.

Level 2 (Elementary)

I can say and understand a few things in English.

Level 3 (Pre-Intermediate)

I can communicate simply and understand in familiar situations but only with some difficulty.

Level 4 (Low Intermediate)

I can make simple sentences and can understand the main points of a conversation but need much more vocabulary.

Level 5 (Intermediate)

I can speak and understand reasonably well and can use basic tenses but have problems with more complex grammar and vocabulary.

Level 6 (Upper Intermediate)

I speak and understand well but still make mistakes and fail to make myself understood occasionally.

Level 7 (Pre-Advanced)

I speak and understand well but still make mistakes and fail to make myself understood occasionally.

Level 8 (Advanced)

I speak and understand very well but sometimes have problems with unfamiliar situations and vocabulary.

Level 9 (Very Advanced)

I speak and understand English completely fluently.
