Business English 20-30

Our Business English 20-30 course is designed to prepare you to confidently speak and use business English in your career. You will learn practical skills for successful communication in the workplace in a professional and friendly environment. In addition to professional language skills, you will work on writing CVs, cover letters and job interview skills.

Who’s it for?

This course is for you if you are at an early stage in your business career. You may have a few years’ working experience, or you may finishing your university education and preparing yourself for the workplace. The course is for clients aged 20 to 30.

Course Content

During your course you can expect to cover the following areas:

  • Business English conversation for different situations

  • Business English vocabulary, useful terms and expressions

  • Business English writing exercises

  • Business meetings and the language of negotiations

  • Telephoning and teleconferencing

  • Presentation skills (describing graphs, figures and trends)

  • Job interview skills

You will also look at communication strategies such as:

  • Making proposals, offers and suggestions

  • Agreeing and disagreeing

  • Asking suitable questions

  • Clarifying, confirming and summarising

  • Challenging and defending an opinion

  • Persuading and compromising

  • Social English and networking

Optional self-study: Before or after your classes, you can use the Self-Study Area in your centre. There are computers, a printer and plenty of desk space available. The Self-Study Areas are available whenever our centres are open. See the opening times for our centres here.

Level 1 (Beginner)

I do not speak any English.

Level 2 (Elementary)

I can say and understand a few things in English.

Level 3 (Pre-Intermediate)

I can communicate simply and understand in familiar situations but only with some difficulty.

Level 4 (Low Intermediate)

I can make simple sentences and can understand the main points of a conversation but need much more vocabulary.

Level 5 (Intermediate)

I can speak and understand reasonably well and can use basic tenses but have problems with more complex grammar and vocabulary.

Level 6 (Upper Intermediate)

I speak and understand well but still make mistakes and fail to make myself understood occasionally.

Level 7 (Pre-Advanced)

I speak and understand well but still make mistakes and fail to make myself understood occasionally.

Level 8 (Advanced)

I speak and understand very well but sometimes have problems with unfamiliar situations and vocabulary.

Level 9 (Very Advanced)

I speak and understand English completely fluently.
