The one to one element of this combination course is designed for Purchasing Managers.

Participants are looking for a course which will give them both the opportunity to focus on sector specific language but also communicate with other professionals from a variety of countries, sectors and industries.

The areas that you can expect to cover during a typical course


The one-to-one content of the course is entirely focussed on the language you need for your international purchasing role including:

  • negotiating effectively
  • describing the purchasing function and the acquisition process/costs
  • justifying your selections and evaluations (appraisals) of bidders
  • explaining your technical and commercial evaluations
  • managing the supply chain
  • outlining the legal aspects of purchasing including breach of agreement and damages
  • presenting cost allocation, contingency planning and arbitrage opportunities
  • assessing a balance sheet
  • explaining best practice including: compliance, your Code of Conduct, and carbon tax/trading
  • talking about technological advances and the future of purchasing including e-Procurement and e-commerce
